2016 Calendar Announcement

We’re very excited to announce that we’re designing a CB Weekly Planner Calendar again for 2016. The spiral bound 2015 calendar was a huge success and everyone was pleased with the quality, so we're moving forward with another one for 2016.  The planner will be a spiral-bound, weekly planner, with pictures on one page and the week in view on the facing page. We're going to add special holidays, events in the blogging world, and other pertinent information in the calendars this year.

Each blog can submit six to nine photos, which can include one of each of your cats or group pictures. If you have one or two kitties, find the best 5-6 photos and send them to us.  We will the photos in the order they are received to set up a collage of your blog for a week.  This format would allow for approximately 54 blogs.  If we still need more images, we will send out another notice.  

All photos should be “natural” photos of your kitties and not “photo shopped”.  We want this calendar to show the beauty of the CB cats in their natural environment.  The photos should be clear and focused.  The photos should be in a variety of  orientations (portrait, landscape, and square). If you would like to design your own collage and send that to us, please make sure the collage is in portrait mode and measures 8" x 10" at 300 dpi..  If you choose to design your own collage, please follow the design of the sample collage below (colored space between the photos).  Please remove any watermarks or names from the photos prior to submitting.  Your blog name and URL address will be included on the page and there will be a statement on the cover sheet that acknowledges that the photos are the property of the individuals.

Please send your photos to us by midnight, July 17, 2015 August 1, 2015.  We’d like to have the calendar completed by the end of August, so we can submit the order to the publisher. Please send pictures of your cats to us at sweetpurrfections@sc.rr.com.  Make sure you include the phrase “2016 CB Calendar” in the subject line

Important Information about of what to include in the email:

1. Send up to 9 photos 
2. Provide the names of the of the kitty (ies) in the photo.  Ideally, the name of the file would be the name of the cat(s).

4. Blog address

2015 Cats of the CB Calendar Announcement

We wanted to design another page-a-day calendar, but the publisher we used last year isn't doing customized calendars with photos anymore.  We thought about a wall calendar, but that would only give us 12 pages of pictures.  We think we've found a publisher that will let us design a spiral-bound, weekly planner, with pictures on one page and the week in view on the facing page. 

Each blog can submit up to eight six photos, one each of each of your cats (or group pictures).  We will the photos in the order they are received to set up a collage of your blog for a week.  This format would allow for approximately 54 blogs.  If we still need more images, we will send out another notice.

The Calendar is Finished

We finished the calendar today and are very excited to begin the next phase.  We've added a new tab at the top of the page listing all of the cats and their blogs that will be included in the calendar.  Please let us know by sending us an email at sweetpurrfections@sc.rr.com if there are any corrections.

The winning cover was B.  A special thank you to Ann for designing these wonderful covers.

We've notified the printer that the calendar is complete. We believe he'll send us a pdf version of the calendar to review prior to printing.  

The ordering process will be a little complicated since we can only order 10 calendars at a time and all must be shipped to us and then we will ship each one individually.  This may take all fall, but please be patient with us.  We'll post instructions about ordering and payment as soon as we know the details.

We hope to complete the calendar this week.  There are several more pictures that came in while Mom Paula was gone and we will need to begin selecting the 2nd picture for many blogs.  

In the meantime, the wonderful Ann, from Zoolatry, agreed to design the cover for the calendar.  Not only did she send a cover, she sent 3 covers!  We can't decide which one we like best, so we thought we'd let the CB decide.  We're putting a voting bar on the side bar and have the possible covers below.  Please vote this week by Friday, August 16!

Short Little Break

We've received over 200 pictures to include in the camera for the first round (going through each email and taking the first choice).  We believe we can begin going through the second round and some kitties will be included after all.

The only problem is that Mom Paula is traveling to Florida for a conference and she won't have the time or the materials to complete the calendar.  Our goal is to have the calendar complete next weekend and then we'll begin to college the money to order the first 10 calendars.  That's right!  We can only order 10 at a time and they will be shipped to Mom Paula and then she'll ship each individual calendar    This is going to be a long process.

Deadline for Photo Submissions Approaching

Don't forget to send your photo submissions for the 2014 Cats of the CB page-a-day calendar by midnight EST August 2, 2013.  We've had lot of kitties submitting their pictures and we want as many different blogs as possible to have at least one kitty represented in this calendar.

Just a couple of reminders about the pictures and the calendar.

• You may submit up to 5 photos for possible inclusion in the calendar.  Please keep in mind that we are only guaranteeing one picture per blog for the calendar.
• Photos should be listed in priority order from 1 to 5.  Listing a photo as #1 means this is the photo you definitely want included in the calendar.
• Identification of the cat(s) in each photo is needed.
• Include the name of your blog in the email.
• Include your blog address in the email.
• Send photos to sweetpurrfections@sc.rr.com by August 2, 2013.
• Put CB Calendar in the subject line of the email.  We don't want to miss anyone!
• Pictures should be in landscape orientation and measure 3 in. high by 4 in. wide.  If you send a picture that is in "portrait" orientation or that is a square, it will be a small picture on the calendar page.  We cannot adjust the image size on the page because it's a template provided by the print company.
• Pictures should be clear.  Please see some helpful guidelines on Katie and Waffles' blog (and Glogirly) about how to get some good pictures of your cats.
• If you know of a cat blogger who may not have seen the announcement through the Cat Blogosphere page or Facebook, please send them this information.  We really want as many different blogs represented as possible.

There will be information posted in a couple of weeks about the ability to purchase one of these calendars, so stay tuned . . .
